NAS Library Suddenly Stopped Working

Downloaded a Gold License and upgraded to 5.0.4.2692. Also pushed my music library from locally on my laptop to a Synology NAS server. Had 3 days where the library was scanned and loaded (which took a while since it was ~ 13K songs) and worked nearly perfectly. Songs played fine, play counts updated ... album art updated sporadically but not consistently (meaning when I restarted the application most of the time album art that I looked up and applied/saved to the album didn't reappear upon reloading the application).
Day 4 comes around and now every song I click on is silent for a few seconds before moving to the next track and greying out the track. I've restarted the application, confirmed the server is fully up and running (I can locate the files and open then in other media players one off) but can't seem to get anything playing. The only thing I haven't done is delete the whole library and then reload everything all over again. While it might work, I'm concerned about why this issue happened to begin with and would hate to be in a situation where that is a common occurrence.
I've only had this NAS setup for a week - and everything is largely set up with default settings. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
