MM Does not always start

Hello all
After the last update, MM does not always start on the first try. I get no splash screen, nothing. Task manager will show a MediaMonkey.exe. If I end task and try again, sometime this works. I think I have had to try 3 times.

Now, sometimes it starts right up and then other time, nothing.
I have reinstalled to no avail.
Once it loads, runs as expected

MM version: 2024.1.0.3113
Windows 10 Pro
Version 22H2
OS Build: 19045.5487.

Can you please see if the latest MediaMonkey 2024.2 beta already resolves this for you?

I downloaded and installed 2024.2.0.3155.
I started MM, stopped it. Wait 30 seconds, making sure ALL MediaMonkey*.exe processes disappeared from Task manager. I repeated this 5 times.

The first 4 MM started right up, I saw 1 MediaMonkey.exe and 3 MediaMonkeyEngine.exe

The 5th time I saw 1 MediaMonkey.exe and 2 MediaMonkeyEngine.exe. After 30 seconds, the 2 MediaMonkeyEngine.exe disappeared, leaving just the single MediaMonkey.exe. Once I ended the MediaMonkey.exe and restarted, MM popped.

So the behaviors seems to remain - hope this helps

3162 seems to be a bit worse - after installing I tried to open MM 3 times, the 1st 3 showed 1 MM.exe and 2 MMEngine.exe, which disappeared after 10-15 seconds, leaving MM.exe. I ended the MM.exe and tried again.

The 4th try, showed 1 MM.exe and 3 MMEngine.exe immediately and MM popped open.

It seems that if I don't see a 3rd MMEngine.exe in the task list at start up, MM is not going to open.

I cleared my event log and started MM again. It only had the 2 MMEngine.exe. When they disappeared, I checked the Event log, but there are no entries indicating any problem.

Just tried again and it immediately opened.

Please capture the failure to start in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643

This will help a developer analyze why this still fails on your setup.
