How can i search/bulk edit "Start Time" [#21898]

Post by TheBestPessimist »

Either i have a moment of stupidity or this feature doesn't exist, but i can't figure out how to search for all my music which has a "Start Time" > 0:00.

I have found that some of my songs (which i was about to delete then re-download) have a Start Time = Stop Time - 2 sec.

Now i would like to fix that
1. find all songs which aren't ok
2. bulk edit them and set Start Time to 0

But I'm stuck at step 1.

Could anyone help, please?
Thank you in advance,

There is no method to find them, but you can edit all files and set it to 0:00

Thank you for the advice.
I missed the obvious (in retrospect) fact that in MM i can simply edit in bulk.

I edited all file's start to 0 and end to 999999999999999999999, and i will hope for the best.

I've added to following for review to maybe add new features in a future release: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21898

Thank you again.

> 3. Add a way to identify files with user set Start or Stop Time, either in a Files to Edit node with changed Start/Stop Time or a method to create an AutoPlaylist where Start or Stop Time are user set.

I would word this differently, and expand the scope: Allow searching for ANY field, whether it can be edited or it is read-only. As long as the field can be viewed in UI, i should be able to search for it. Yes, some searches do not have indexes so they could be slower. Name the 'search column' with a suffix "(slow search)" and that's it. (SQLite is freaking fast for local use. I'm a dev, i know)
In this way, anyone could search for anything they could ever desire.

Not sure how other people use MM, but i use it exclusively for maintaining and playing my music collection. Ever since i started using MM, i have never used anything else.

So at times, i wanted to search for various weird fields or weird metadata.

BTW, the issue has Priority high and I think it probably shouldn't. At best i think that's 2/5, but more like 1/5 prio.
