Hello!
I have configured MM 3.2.5 to convert *.FLAC files into *.AAC, while they are synced onto an iPod Nano 5th gen.
Album, albumart, songs etc. appear on the iPod, very well. Windows shows *.aac files on the iPod and I can play them directly from the iPod useing Quick Time.
Unfortunately all songs are displayed with a lenght of 0 seconds on the iPod and of course I can't play them useing the iPod.
Why doesn't the iPod read the files correctly? Any suggestions to solve the problem?
I found destination setting (sync tracks to) for the iPod equals <Artist> - <Title>, with MM 3.2.5
With MM 4 the destination setting for the same device equals (sync music to) \Music\<Album Artist> - <Album>\<Track#:2> <Title>
Does it matter, which setting is used, if I would like to use iTunes now and then?

You should use .m4a files instead of aac.

Yes, reading your answer to my other question (tags not included in aac), already raised that idea. I have read in apple-wiki, that Apple does dinstinguish DRM or no DRM by the file extension (aac vs. m4a). That would explain, why the nano doesn't play the *.aac songs, whereas QuickTime does.nohitter151 wrote:You should use .m4a files instead of aac.
I will try *.m4a format with the nano, too.
Thank you so much for your support!

It should not matter. For iPods the filenames are trimmed to 4 characters regardless.
