Sync fails after 'Analyzing sync list'

I've had problems with the battery draining, and with connecting MMA to MMW (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 21&t=75120), but I'm getting closer...

I have now connected my phone (latest MMA) to (latest) MMW again, and it's synced a load of tracks, but there's 231 remaining that sync fails on every time. It does the 'analyzing sync list' step then as it tried the first track it pops up 'Synchronization failed!'

What can I do?

We need to improve the error messaging to better explain why certain tracks fail to sync. In the meantime, can you check if the tracks that failed to sync have anything in common (e.g. DRM-protected? Can't be converted for some reason? )? If not, a debug log from both MMA and MMW would give us the info we'd need to help figure this out.

I'm now down to 56 tracks that won't sync, for some reason. How do I get a MMA log for you?

I think I've now sent you a MMA log (#2WV78J6DC5). I have a MMW log too, although it doesn't show very much, but I'm not sure how to provide that to you?

It looks like these tracks are deadlinks. I can see in log that they were not found in your PC. So please check whether these files exist and please let me know.

Brilliant, that was exactly it, thanks. I didn't know about dead links - might be helpful if MMW flagged them up?

Music > Files to Edit > Dead Links will show these files (for connected drives). You can also use Status = is accessible as criteria in Collections and AutoPlaylists to exclude the Dead Links.
