Would like some help /advice please

Post by Steve18 »

Ive downloaded & installed the free version of mm to my pc running windows vista

However i have 2 issues im unable to resolve

1) My Roberts 83i radio will find mm on the server when mm program is open on pc however as soon as the program is closed down (not pc) it no longer receives the server/library

2) My Onkyo Av TR-609 receiver found mm server when it was first installed along with windows media server-now it shows the mm folder but no longer find the contents

Ive tried accessing both devices with both the avg firewall on & off with no success

Under media servers/media sharing(UPnp/dlna)media sharing & wifi sync/ settings as follows

media monkey library (enabled)192.168.1.65 running
media monkey server (enabled) 192.168.1.65 running

Can anyone point me in right direction please?

Thanks

1) That's to be expected (you can't use a closed program), unless you installed the MediaMonkey Service (make sure it's installed as the same Windows User as MediaMonkey).

2) Check your Media Server settings including shared content and auto-conversion rules (most clients won't display items they can't play) under Tools > Options > Media Sharing. Also be aware that some clients section server content into Photos, Audio and Video and won't display items not pertaining to the selected segment (no audio files from the server will be shown when browsing the video segment on the client).

Thanks for explanation -its working fine again now

Can you tell me how I go about setting up media monkey server the same as windows media player -so it can be accessed without opening program on pc (Assuming this is possible to do)

I thought as it listed both media monkey library & server under servers/shared media it would work this way

Best Regards

WMP is integrated with Windows thus works differently. As hinted in MediaMonkey you need to install the service (should be available in Media Sharing options in MediaMonkey).
