Shuffle problems with DNLA since last patch

Post by Eagleclaww »

I'm having trouble with the songs shuffling when streaming to my DLNA blu ray player. This only started since the last patch.

I can't figure out what's causing it.

The only way to temporarily fix it is to do this exact sequence:

1. Set Media Monkey to play in media monkey
2. Turn off blu ray player
3. Play a couple songs in media monkey (although I can slide the song forward to the last few seconds).
4. Close out Media Monkey
5. Turn the blu ray player back on.
6. Start Media Monkey
7. Change Media Monkey options to stream to DLNA player
8. Start playing songs.

I've spent much time tweaking the settings in media monkey to try and resolve that issue, but pretty sure it's going to have be fixed with a patch. Especially since it only started after the last patch.

What problem do you have (ie. what fails)?

It stops shuffling. The play bar hangs on the last second of the song. Although I guess it's only "the last second" is the most the play bar can show. Otherwise I'm sure the play bar would be completely full, since the current song ends. The screen on the TV just goes back to the default startup screen. (That is, it no longer shows the song that finished playing.)

So yes, the current song does play to the end and then media monkey just stops and does nothing. Does not start playing the next song.

I'm using an Oppo digital BPD 103 darbee edition.
Since it only started since the last patch, it has to be a coding problem. They did change DLNA stuff. The TV now shows the song metadata. Something it didn't do before the last patch.

It's random too. I might play all night without a problem. Or it may play a few songs then hang.

The home theater is hard wired to my network. So it's not a Wi/Fi issue.

Then capture it in a debug log (step 4b) and send the log to support for developer analysis: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=20&t=69

Note, it could also be a firmware update on the client causing problems.

I never did figure out how to debug it. I can do these steps to fix it.

1. Turn off Oppo Digital blu ray player
2. Close out Media Monkey
3. Turn on Oppo Digital blu ray player
4. Launch Media Monkey

That seems to fix it every time. That's the best I can tell you. If I turn off the blu ray player, then turn it on, but Media Monkey still running, it seems to forget it's playing now list. If you do a new search or some other filter (doesn't matter how you filter the songs), it still can't seem to figure out that there is a next song in the playing now list.

I've even tried clicking on a new song from the *default play now list after restarting media monkey, but the player is still on.
(That is, restart media monkey after it bugs out, but not reboot the Oppo player).
But if turn off the Oppo player and close out Media Monkey, then turn on the Oppo player, then launch Media Monkey, that will again fix it.

*default playing now list is whatever was in the playing now list from last time media monkey was running.
