Hello
Would like to use MM as DLNA Server in my Network. It's all ok when I do this with MM started. But I would like to do it with the Service.
When I try to start "MediaMonkeyService.exe", it's canceling with error 1069 - Wrong Login Data, also when I run it as Administrator. I have the newest Version on.
What could be wrong?
Greetings from Bern.

Re: Cannot Start MM Service under Win 8.1
Did you install the service as the same user MM is run as? This is required so that the same settings are used (thus the setup Media Server).
Note, that there are a couple reports on issues with the Service, and I'm not sure how this can be troubleshot as I don't think traditional debugging works.

.... sorry for the late answer.
Yes I did and I also started the Service as Administrator. I stop to try it further on this Workstation.
Next week I will get an Intel NUC as Mediaserver. So I will install MM on this Device and also move my Music. Hope the Problem then will be solved.

I don't have 8 handy but ... had same problem (over many many versions).
Once you 'install' the service and get the error, exit MMW then if you get into task manager/services (however done on
then you should be able to open/edit the mmw entry and use your standard login info. So if you log into windows as JOHN and password SMITH then use that and the service should start.
At least that has worked for me

Re: Cannot Start MM Service under Win 8.1
Thank you. In meantime I installed all on a new Intel NUC System. It works independed in my Network without a Monitor and a User logged in.
To correct install MMW as Service, I hade to slide the Windows UAC to lowest Level, then MM Service will ask for useraccount Password when installs in MM.
But there is a new Issu. That all works fine now without to log in and start MM.
But when I do this (open MM Desktop Version), the Mediamonkey Server disappears on Network, even when I restart the NUC despite the Service is running. I have to start again MM Desktop, deinstall and install the Service and it works. Confused

Yes I'm running one DB in the whole Network since years
and I like the advantages to do so. (DB Path to the Networkshare into the ini file and Filepathes to the Songs in UNC)
But I solved the Problem. I had to install a new Server in MMW Options and every thing is right now.
Thank you for helping.
