mma playlists are "empty"

The tracks/songs in mma playlists are gone at mid day today; playlists are still showing but are "empty". Have not synchronized with mmw for a few days. Not aware of android or mma sw updates. I tried Galaxy's native Music app which, at first, saw mma playlists and tracks. An hour later, Music did not see even mma playlists; Music did show its default playlists (about 4). The Music app still sees the tracks, albums, and folders. This has happened before on my phone and several times on my wife's (S5).

Previously, I fixed the problem by reinstalling mma, and then syncing which takes a hour or more (900 songs). So please don't tell me to reinstall.
