Creating an mp3 CD

Post by BrianE »

I've only ever used Media Monkey to create standard CD's, but now I wish to create an mp3 CD to play in my car. Can anyone tell me the steps I need to follow to create an mp3 CD. I would like to have a folder called Sixties, another called Seventies and another called Eighties and Later. I would also like to have a folder for specific artists such as The Beatles, Roy Orbison and ABBA. Is it possible to do this?

Select Data CD instead of Audio CD when burning the files. For the folder's you use Masks:

You may have to create Playlists of the different decades and use \<Playlist>\ in the Mask, but I haven't burned in a very long time.

Hi,
Just small add to @Lowlander post above:

When I burned DATA CDs for car I always burned them using this Mask " \<Playlist>\<Auto Number> <Title> - <Artist>" and had no issues playing them. Also I always set level volume to 95db and converted to MP3 VBR V2.

Thanks for the replies. I've never used masks, so could you let me have step-by-step instructions on how to do this? Also, which is the better version to use, 4 or 5? I couldn't find the options in version 5 that are there in version 4 (e.g., no burn button on the toolbar or option to burn playlists in the burn dialogue).

You can't burn an MP3 (data) CD in MediaMonkey 5, so you'll need to use MediaMonkey 4 instead.
