Playing non-library Files [#17907]

I use MM as my default media player. In MM4 I could select files in Windows Explorer, right click & select the 'Play in MM' option. This then runs MM4 & loads the selected files into the Now Playing section& plays them.
I have MM5 as my default player & this tries to run an instance of itself for each file i.e. it loads only the 1st file & then tries to run MM5 again to load in the 2nd file & so on.
I think that this related to the issue I raised when trying to use the Squeezebox as a player as the files are sent individually to the Squeezebox. This works but is not ideal.
Thanks for your help.

Do you have the option to only allow one instance enabled under Tools > Options > General? Is MediaMonkey 5 installed as a regular or portable install?

It is a regular install. I can't see the settings option. Please can you let me know which sub-menu it is in.
Thanks
Peter

It's in Tools > Options > General in the Main Menu.

The responses to this issue all seem to be missing the point to me.
- If I selected a group of tracks with File Explorer, and took option Play In MediaMonkey", I would expect that a single instance of MM would play those tracks, in succession .. and I would expect that, regardless of the "Allow Just One Instance of MediaMonkey" option... ie. the reported behaviour would never be the desired result.
- I do have the "Allow Just One Instance of MediaMonkey" option checked ... I tested the above procedure ==> MM5 opened and started playing the previous queue; the selected tracks were not queued
- I cleared the queue, closed MM5, and then rerun the test ===> MM5 opened, it played nothing and the queue was empty
- Tested with version 2405 of MM5. A non-portable install.
Peter S, there is a workaround to play non-library files with MM5.
You can browse non-library files in the Folders node in the MM5 Media Tree. You can play albums or tracks selections from there.

Thanks for the responses. I hadn't realised that there were options within the menu headings. I have the 'only one instance' selected.
I agree with Barry4679 that it should work as MM4 does.
Barry - Thanks for the workaround. This does work although when I try & play the tracks through my Squeezebox it says that MM cannot decode the files.

I can't reproduce the multiple instances, for me it fails to load the other files in the selection. Added as:

If you can, please capture what happens on your setup in a debug log (step 4b) and attach it to a Support Ticket:
