I believe that turning this on causes MMW to make frequent multicasts announcing its availability to other devices. Because currently (v 4.1.6) this option appears to be turned ON by default (maybe as an install option), it would be worthwhile to mention that MMW will be making frequent outgoing network requests, which will be reported and possibly blocked by firewalls.
