Portable/Audio Device Plug-ins |
Device
plug-ins allow MediaMonkey to synchronize with audio
devices such as the iPod and other MP3 players.
In addition to synchronizing tracks, some of the
plug-ins synchronize related properties such as
Album Art, ratings, play history, along with playlists.
Listed below are plug-ins currently included with
MediaMonkey, and the devices supported by them.
For more information, see the Device
Synchronization Forum.

Plug-in
: iRiver H120,
H320,
H340
Description : This
plugin allows MediaMonkey to work with
iRiver hard-drive-based jukeboxes capable
of storing between 20 and 40 GB. The
devices are generally highly rated,
and although usability might be considered
slightly below that of an iPod, they
support additional formats (e.g. OGG)
that the iPod doesn't. The integration
between MediaMonkey and these devices
is seamless and whenever tracks are
synchronized to the device, the device
database is also updated.

Plug-in
: Generic Portable/Audio Device
Description : MediaMonkey's
generic device plugin works with almost
any USB Mass Storage Device (a device
that appears as a drive letter in Windows
explorer) to synchronize with MediaMonkey.
All that is needed is to configure the
device's drive letter.
For
those looking for a small flash-based
player, the Sandisk players are about
as small as a USB key, but include a
navigable interface (unlike some other
very small form factor products). If
you're looking for something a little
more exotic, the SwiMP3 bone conduction
underwater MP3 Player offers an amazing
underwater listening experience!
