I have found a solution!!!

Make sure that you have Itouch/Iphone firmware 2.1 installed on it, then jailbreak with quickpwn: www.quickpwn.com and follow the instructions.

Then go into cydia and download a package called OpenSSH, and also download PwnPlayer.
Setup all the settings so that you can access your itouch/iphone through FTP.
One you can do that navigate to /var/mobile/Media/Music.
Copy any music that you want into this directory (trust me), just MP3 and MP4 audio at the moment.

Once you have copied all of the music over, go onto you Itouch/Iphone and go into the application "Player" and click on filesystem.
You may have to click the refresh button on the top left of the screen but all your music (and in thier folders) should be there.
From there you can play them as if you are on the Ipod/Iphone music player.

Unfortunatly it cuts out MM in the file transfer step, but this is the easiest way to do it with NO ITUNES INSTALLED!

Note that it is very much possible that iTunes also add some System Service to recognize plug/unplug of iPods...

Those sound like the right files, you probably have to register the files somehow...

I tried to copy the files from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple and the usbappl.sys into system32 but still did not do it.
When I went into Device Manager in Control Panel, it did not recognise the Ipod Touch at all. If I could make it recognise as an Ipod then I think that would solve it. But there must be more.

I need to know what components/files that Media Monkey looks at for the Ipod Touch/Iphone.

They're listed here but I've never tested if copying just those components over will actually work or not.

Keep in mind also that without iTunes you can't backup your iTouch settings, back up your apps, or upgrade the firmware.

Do you happen to know the components that are required and where they go?
I know people who have Itunes and Media Monkey installed so I can easily copy them over as needs.

I know that this seems like I am taking the hardest road possible, it is just that I hate Itunes/Apple that much.

iTunes has to be installed, some components from iTunes are necessary for MM to recognize the iPhone/iTouch.

I seem to be having touble with the new Media Monkey 3.0.6.1189, it does not recognise or display my Ipod Touch running firmware 2.0.1.
I tired my old Ipod Mini and that worked fine, but not the Ipod Touch.

Any thoughts or simalarities, please let me know,
