I wanted to post an update to this, as I've found that album art (embedded in the tag) gets this same sort of random treatment. As an example I just tagged 500+ or so albums, and 53 tracks from those albums don't get embedded in the tag, as shown in the "Inconsistent album art" node under Files to edit. So I go and make the album art consistent, and the comments on a random subset of those tracks get truncated again. Then I go and fix the comments and a smaller set of album art gets removed from the tags, and on and on until I'm finally down to one album.
What's the deal with this? I don't want to have to edit a particular album 10 times just to get the tags the way they should be. It's quickly made MediaMonkey completely unusable for tagging, and I'm just a bit frustrated.
