Shealbi,
Just to make certain that you have an absolutely clean installation, can you:
1) Uninstall MediaMonkey and any old copies of Songs-DB that you may have installed via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel
2) Delete the ../Program Files/MediaMonkey directory
3) Delete the ../Program Files/Songs-DB directory
note: steps 2 and 3 will delete your database and any plug-ins you may have added. If you want to retain them, just copy them to some temp directory
4) Re-install MediaMonkey 2.1, let it scan your drive, and try playing your files
If this works, then most likely there was a plug-in / incorrect configuration entry that was causing the problem. If not, then please e-mail me the debug log as described at:
http://www.songs-db.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=341) and we'll try to track down the problem.
