Thanks, fixed as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8306

It's still happening. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, this time with the debug version. Not sure if the log is of any use but here it is: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39561993/TOM-PC.LOG
and here's the messed up flowers:

While I was doing this, I noticed that when you add artwork by pasting a copied image or by dragging and dropping it creates the file immediately, and if you then cancel adding artwork the files remain. The links to them are not added to the database but the files newly created by MM aren't deleted. They should be, probably automatically but it definitely should be an option if not.

Okay. Now I have reproduced it. It works properly with the steps you outlined (in Firefox), including the file that was written to the folder.
Here are the steps I took:
1. Entered http://flowerspics.net/wp-content/uploa ... Images.jpg to address bar of Firefox
2. Run MM 1424 and select an MP3 file
3. Open the artwork tab of the properties window (right click on image, edit artwork properties)
4. Drag the image from Firefox onto the artwork tab
5. Choose save image to folder OR save image to tag (if possible) and folder.

The resulting file image in the folder is messed up (the tag seems fine). It's here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39561993/%28Fea ... e%29_3.thm
Interestingly, this messing up and the ability to drag and drop images has returned since I unquarantined winamp.exe which Norton had grabbed on an automatic scan (see http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=60132) but I don't have any plugins that I've installed in MM4.
I'm going to try removing and reinstalling 1424, I'll keep Norton turned off and tell you what happens.

Well now I'm confused
Two things have changed since yesterday, I can't drag and drop images into the edit artwork window, which I thought was a nice touch and was what I was doing yesterday when I produced this. Also, I can't reproduce the issue. It might be that a restart has shifted the problem? Maybe something was lurking from 1423? But I thought others found 1423 okay? Funny that I was able to reproduce it yesterday... Oh well, long and the short is it's stopped happening. Shame I can't drag and drop today either though...
Sorry! If I can reproduce later I'll let you know
EDIT: WOrth mentioning that it was in the image files MM stored in the folder that I was seeing the problem rather than in the tag.

Hi Tommy,
I am trying to fix it, but I cannot reproduce the issue in 1424 (I could in 1421)

Here are my steps

1. Entered http://flowerspics.net/wp-content/uploa ... Images.jpg to address bar of Google Chrome
2. Right clicked the image in the Chrome browser and selected 'Copy image'
3. Run MM 1424 and selected an MP3 file
4. Paste it to Properties -> Artwork, stored to file tag
5. Clicked OK
=> image is added to tag and is readable by MM, is readable by dbPowerAmp and in Win7 explorer shows correct colors

What are your steps?

OK I reopened the issue in the tracker.

I just checked it wasn't to do with adding multiple images, but even for a single image this happened. So, as mrallen was doing, I'm dragging and dropping the image from a browser into the edit artwork box.

Can you show a screenshot or upload a sample file? I can't reproduce the problem in 1424, but I could in 1421.

It won't fix already tagged tracks, you'll need to re-tag them with art.

This (weird colours [#8255]) is still broken for me (or rebroken) in 1424.
