The first screen should allow for column selection, if you don't see this, what Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using?

"Then under file menu, reports, file list, choose which fields you want"

When I get to file list I only get the option to select the output type, i.e., XML, HTML, CSV, EXCEL. There's no option to select field. I'm trying to extract a list of all genres in my library so I can select the ones I want and migrate badly tagged files to approved genres. If I generate a report including all fields, the default option, I only get the first 12,888 records, out of over 200K. I thought if I could select only genre I might be able to download more rows.

Yeah it's physically missing, as in I don't know where it is. I can't even figure out exactly how I lost it. There's a tiny chance it's in my house somewhere, I nurture a small hope I might still find it, but most likely it's gone.

Have you considered professional data recovery attempts on that "lost" drive?

Surely something would be salvageable, unless it is actually missing or broken into small particles....

Gentlemen, thank you for your assistance. Was not familiar with SQL. The second option worked a charm too, did not delete original database, and the ability to choose which fields are exported is just great. I am now embarked on a five year mission to recreate my 450 GB collection!

There might be an easier way. The MM database contains all kinds of stuff you don't need.

First make sure you have copied the database to a backup location. The following should not affect it, but just to be safe.

Next, open Mediamonkey, click on "All Tracks" in the media tree, then "Ctrl+A" to select all your listed tracks.

Then under file menu, reports, file list, choose which fields you want, and then OK, chose file type csv, give it a name, and save.

You can then open this csv file in your spreadsheet, where you can sort, markup, etc

You can use any SQLite editor (I personally use the DBeaver SQL Client software)

Forgive the total noob question. I tragically lost the hard drive all my music was on, and the MM5 database is the only surviving record of what I had. I'd like to be able to see it in a legible format so I can go about rebuilding my collection. I tried opening it in Notepad but it was a mess. What is the best program or way to convert it to something human readable?

Thanks in advance for your help.
