If you want to get automatically displayed folder with the currently playing track whenever the playing track is changed, you could try the [url=http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49369]Find Currently Playing Track[/url] add-on.

Hm yea, because I am not talking about the Playlist ([url=http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5329]your link[/url]) and not about the script which just shows the single current playing song:

I mean what is this good for? I (or you) know which song is playing atm and you can jump anyway to this song in the playlist (-> Hotkey Setup -> "General: Focus tracklist on currently playing item). So there is no use to show it again in the library - single?! :D

Therefore I thought of the [url=http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=241882#p241882]quiet complex[/url] way to let MM browse indirectly to the actual path, where the item/song is playing from WITHOUT "touching" the folder (which mean you can still browse up and down through your whole library):

Sure hope this becomes a standard option in MM4. It shouldn't be this hard to browse to the currently playing song. I for one would like to have a small button to press (developers, please mimic the functionality that itunes provides with their now playing button) as opposed to a hotkey for this functionality.

You can just set a hotkey for this in Options -> Hotkeys, no?

I use MM 3.1.0.1256.
Installed the script but nothing. Changed letter P to Q because P is used for other shortcut.
Is it only me having trouble..try restarting MM..nada. :cry:

It's not exactly what you want, but you can try [b][url=http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=29292]Change view to song currently playing[/url] [/b]script.

You can always see the currently playing track by just going to the "Now Playing" node. I'd still like to see a button so you can jump to the currently playing track in whichever view you're in (and if the current view/node you're in doesn't have the track you're playing, then it should jump to the now playing node).

I'd also like to add my vote for this feature, but see why it might be difficult to implement.

How is MM supposed to know which Library node you want it to jump to ? Most times I want it to go to the Artist node, but sometimes I was previously in another node and would like it to return to that node. In my case, it would be even more difficult because I've added additional nodes to my Library tree. The MM developers would have no way of knowing what I named them, what they contained or how they were ordered.

That said, I still hope they can find a way to implement this useful feature.
