I use MM 3.1.0.1256.
Installed the script but nothing. Changed letter P to Q because P is used for other shortcut.
Is it only me having trouble..try restarting MM..nada.

You can just set a hotkey for this in Options -> Hotkeys, no?

NOHITTER151 YOU ROCK!!

How simple could it be lol

Tools >> Options >> General >> Hotkeys then go to the edit hotkey drop down.

On the list is a choice that is called General: Focus tracklist on currently playing item.

I chose Ctrl+space as the hotkey and it doesn't route you through the Now Playing node either.

No its not that simple, because "we" are talking about the library-list: http://www.abload.de/img/library_listingnubo.jpg

As Eyal said, the mentioned script is again a different function though: jumping just to the "Current Playing"-entry in the Music Explorer Tree showing only the playing song.

Unfortunately I am not a coder, but here is my advice:

Great would be a script which does the following steps as long as it is activated (=installed) and the next song is starting to play:

http://www.abload.de/img/scriptcy03.jpg
  1. Showing all items within a location you can choose in the Music Explorer Tree in the library-window (userfriendly, because it'd be possible to choose "Genre" as well for instance) [red]
  2. Opening up the path of the folder/location of the current playing item [= clicking on +], but not marking the folder as the library would only show the content of the folder then (and closing other location at the same time [= clicking on -], to keep it tidy during listening) [yellow]
  3. Jumping to the actual song playing and highlight...
(1)... this item at the top in the library-window (in the "Show Album Art with details"-Mode); [darkblue]
    (2)... in the middle of the library (in the "Show Details"-Mode);
(3)... just the cover (in the "Show Album Art"-Mode).
As an advantage for users I reckon it would be a bit easyier to handle big libraries (going slightly closer to the functionality of a library in iTunes). The clou: if you start searching, the results will be shown as normal in the library-window, but as soon as the next song starts playing you see the whole library again (with the higlighted item of course).

Huh? The topic title is "...jumpt to the current playing song", and the hotkey does exactly that. I must be missing something.

Sure hope this becomes a standard option in MM4. It shouldn't be this hard to browse to the currently playing song. I for one would like to have a small button to press (developers, please mimic the functionality that itunes provides with their now playing button) as opposed to a hotkey for this functionality.

I already entered this into the MM feature tracker: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5329

Hm yea, because I am not talking about the Playlist (your link) and not about the script which just shows the single current playing song:

I mean what is this good for? I (or you) know which song is playing atm and you can jump anyway to this song in the playlist (-> Hotkey Setup -> "General: Focus tracklist on currently playing item). So there is no use to show it again in the library - single?! :D

Therefore I thought of the quiet complex way to let MM browse indirectly to the actual path, where the item/song is playing from WITHOUT "touching" the folder (which mean you can still browse up and down through your whole library):
http://www.abload.de/img/scriptcy03.jpg

This is why I said:

If you want to get automatically displayed folder with the currently playing track whenever the playing track is changed, you could try the Find Currently Playing Track add-on.
