Re: where ist the field "Status" derived from?

You assign the status via the filters you create. I don't understand this answer. The default filters include "status = Music" and "status = AudioBooks", and "status = Podcasts". These filters do work except that I have a group of files that are being seen as part of "Music" which are not music. Th...

Re: Checkbox for... Play / Don't Play

Am I right that you're looking for a per playlist checkbox to enable/disable tracks or are you looking for a global enabled/disable? My preference is for a global checkbox feature that would potentially affect songs in all playlists. eg. I have "Lynyrd Skynyrd - Whiskey Rock-A-Roller" on "Nuthin' F...

Re: Checkbox for... Play / Don't Play

I assume it might be for temporary purposes, so you could temporarily mark certain songs to be ignored for playback without removing them from the playlist. Using rating as bomb doesn't really work properly in this scenario as a temporary thing especially if you already use ratings for rating. How ...

Re: Checkbox for... Play / Don't Play

I think you're both missing the point. Yes, it CAN be done with filters and custom fields and playlists. But ALL of those work-arounds are more steps than a boolean checkbox would provide as a play/don't play feature. All your examples require me to build an extra step into my existing playlists. If...

Re: Checkbox for... Play / Don't Play

This is pretty much exactly what custom Filters are meant for. Perhaps I don't understand custom filters... Wouldn't I have to choose some field, maybe a custom field, and enter some text like "yes/no", "play/skip", etc? I guess this comes down to, the lack of any boolean fields. Please explain you...

Checkbox for... Play / Don't Play

One feature I miss from iTunes is the checkbox next to every item in my library so I can decide if I want to play it or not. I know there are many ways I could do this in MM, but they are all work-arounds for (IMO) a missing feature. My library is ALL of my CDs. I want all music to be available but ...

MM to Squeezebox fast (and playlists)

I know a few of us use Squeezebox... with a couple of problems. 1) Importing playlists from MM. Thanks to this forum the answer is the addin, "Export M3Us" by Zvezdan Dimitrijevic - http://solair.eunet.rs/~zvezdand/ExportM3UsForSubNodes.htm 2) How to get music from MM to your SB in under 20 minutes....

Re: RegExp Find & Replace 2.2.2 - with 50 presets [MM2+3]

Replacing the content of the path field doesn't work if the new path is a cname... I only have one suggestion: on folders it doesn't actually replace them but it creates new folders. It would be useful if, when renaming, it would also delete emptied (old) folders at the same time. Sorry, but this is...

Re: Slimdevices Squeezebox / Squeezecenter Support (Plugin) or D

For Playlists from MediaMonkey to Squeezecenter check out: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34512 it can be set to automatically export playlists and probably would do a good job in bridging the gap between MediaMonkey and Squeezecenter. OMG... I've been looking for this!! Fanta...

Re: Export M3U/Playlists for Child Nodes 3.1 (2010-06-21)[MM2+3]

I could rename that option to e.g. "Unix .m3u format", so that .m3u files would have both the "/" as a separator and a new line without a carriage return when the option is turned on. I understand your hesitation to clutter your UI... For me the "Unix .m3u format" would be a good option (yes I have...

Re: Export M3U/Playlists for Child Nodes 3.1 (2010-06-21)[MM2+3]

This is the closest I've been to my goal of exporting MM playlists to my Linux SqueezeBox. One problem remains. Windows creates files with a carriage return (^M) at then end of every line. You can't see it in Windows, but when I read the file in my Linux server it's a problem. It seems I could use y...

Re: Slimdevices Squeezebox / Squeezecenter Support (Plugin) or D

The idea of using MM as the UI for SB is interesting and I'd like to see it, however... I think it misses one point. Many users (myself included) store music libraries on a NAS. To me, the benefits are I don't have to dedicate a computer to access my library via SB to my home audio system, and I can...

Better rating user interface (2nd post)

Here's rk's original post... I would very much appreciate if the rating would take place like in iTunes or Musicmatch: Simply click into a bar of stars instead of opening up a value list. To read the entire thread please see the original posting... http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49...

Looks like rk started this thread as a guest... I think that means he (or she) can't add a poll. I think this is a Really great request... but maybe rk and I are the minority. I'm going to start a new thread with the same subject "Better rating user interface (2nd post)" so we'll have a poll. Or... ...

Add a poll?

Personally I think a manual link is the perfect solution. But you raise a good question Lowlander. How many people are interested?

I'll add a poll.
