So how exactly do you use this link? I click on it and my computer asks me what program I want to use to open the .dll file, and I choose media monkey. MM then opens and starts scanning as normal. Did it install?

So you add songs to your Zen with WMP and you see the album art on the zen, but if you transfer the same file with MM, you don't see the album art on zen?

Thanks for the feedback jiri.
I think Winamp is a good model to use for how the program should be able to manually synch without duplicating, and for how to create playlists directly on the Ipod (or other device).
Since I'm a Gold member, I'm looking forward to see how MM evolves in this area!

Use Winamp. It does exactly what you want. You can work with your Ipod database, no transfering and no duplicating. It's perfect!

Well, I figured out the perfect solution, and believe me I have been trying for a long time to come up with one. The perfect solution is: Use Winamp! I went to Winamp, located my Ipod, and was able to create playlists right on my Ipod. I didn't have to create them in the Library at all. I could also ...

So Winamp doesn't have this duplicate song problem? I am fed up with MM and not being able to make a playlist without duplicating songs. Maybe I'll try Winamp.

My last post was wrong. Looking at the help section, I see that the "synch tracks to" option is designed to create a folder structure on your portable device. For the Ipod however, if you check the box that says "force itunes style folders" or something like that, this will put songs onto your Ipod ...

Playlists on Ipod - Duplicate songs - Am I just dumb?

It seems simple enough. All I want to do is create a playlist, give it a name and put it on my Ipod. The problem is that I get duplicate songs on the Ipod. My Ipod, and computer library databases are identical. First I rebuild my Ipod database to be sure it matches my library, so there won't be any ...

You can use itunes just for video, without any problem. Just set up itunes so that it doesn't open when you connect your ipod, and make sure it is set for manual, so it doesn't automatically try to synch. Then you can drag and drop your movies, and not mess with music.

I think if the tracks were identical it would not duplicate, but since you changed the bitrate, it sees them as new tracks.

This is what I want to know! Why is it so difficult to get an answer about how to do such a basic function! If you create a playlist on the Ipod, you can't rename it with Media Monkey. If you create a playlist on your computer and then sych it, I think MM duplicates the songs on the Ipod. So how do ...

I think this is used when you transfer songs from your device to your computer, so you would define the folder where you want the music to be stored on your computer. For example C:\My Music\<Artist> - <Album>

I make sure that my tags are the same in both ID3 1 and ID3 2. I think Media Monkey reads the ID3 1 tags and IPOD I'm not sure. You also have to rescan after you make changes, and you might try this: Tools/portable devices/Ipod/configure/device configuration/ Then check the box for update database ...
