Some of my playlists in MM (Gold) 2.5.5.998 seem to be lost. When I r-click a track and select Send To > Playlist I see the two sets of names, top and bottom, with a divider line. But the top ones no longer seem to exist under Playlists in the tree. I therefore want to start afresh by adding the same names with New Playlist. So how do I remove the old names please?

Re: Removing playlists from SEND TO list
i believe that is a section in the monkeys ini file. in the c:\my documents\my music\media monkey\mediamonkey.ini location
that is where the last scanned folders are kept so makes sense the context menu would be in there also?
i have not looked for it there just going on the fact the others are in there.
you will have to open the ini file with notepad to be able to see what is typed in it.
on the chance it is not in there. then you will have to get a computer cleaning program like ccleaner slim and use it to clean the mui files. that is mostrecently used index files that is what windows keeps all the previous files for all the programs in so cleaning those out should get rid of the list of used files in monkey also.

Re: Removing playlists from SEND TO list
In your MediaMonkey.ini, find the heading [SendToPlstHist]. Delete the entries under it and start MM, the history should be gone.
To modify this file, first make sure that MediaMonkey has been closed. .ini files can be edited with a text editor such as Notepad.
Here is the default locations of this file:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ticleid=17
NOTE: If you cannot see these files, it likely means that you need to enable viewing of hidden files/folders.
In Windows explorer, go to Tools > Folder options. Select the View tab and check "Show hidden files and folders".
The folders and files listed should now be accessible.

Re: Removing playlists from SEND TO list
on be half of nohitter151 and me
we are glad its fixed.
now i know you have mm 2 so do i are you getting errors from the access alerts with the okay buttons on when you try and clear the text in the add rescan panel of the items you want to search?
i have to go in the ini file all the time and empty that out of the ini also just to clear that text area.
just incase you have not noticed it yet. here is what i am talking about.
1. open mm 2.
2. go to the my computer node in monkeys tree.
3. select the folder on the hard drive you have to keep new music in.
4. click on add rescan.
5. on the panel that shows up look in the text area that has the pathway in to scan. mine has the previous one listed in there even if the folders i had in that one folder before are no longer there.
6. click the mouse in the area on the right side to be able to drag all to the left to select all the ones listed in the area.
7. upon getting the last text character selected on the left you will get the access error alerts with the okay button.
the only way to stop it is to close mediamonkey 2 then restart it.
thats the error and the cause of it. the fix is as i said go in to the ini file and remove the last scaned folder pathways so it reads last scanned =
save the ini close it and restart mediamonkey then you won't have anything listed in that area to need to be removed. and you can just select the folders you want to add files from, of course i have to do this every time i add songs. and with over 2000 songs that have been added this year alone that mm 2 on win98 is giving me that error a lot.
just thought i would give you a heads up if you have not seen it yet. or how to fix it if you had.
that is only on mm2.5 i get that error.

rovingcowboy:
Thanks for the tip, but at the moment I'm not seeing that error. In the 'Selected folders' box I have only the single file path "C:\Docs\My Music".
But maybe this is because (since I last re-installed MM) this has been the only location I've specified. I suspect that if I were to change it and then restore the standard location I would also get the same problem. I'll bear that in mind for the future!
