Can you help me set an Autoplaylist?

Post by cali »

I'm trying to create a playlist that:

Has all the songs added in the past 10 days,
Is sorted by newest album added and then by track.

So for instace if I add 3 albums, all same-album tracks will be displayed alphabetically (by track).

This way:
Track 01 - Album (added on the 10th)
Track 02 - Album (added on the 10th)
...
Track 01 - Album (added on the 9th)
Track 02 - Album (added on the 9th)
...
Track 01 - Album (added on the 8th)
...
I know that if I add one album and then one week later I add another song from that same album, the last song added will not show up together with the other songs from that same album. That's alright. I usually add an album or a show in its entirety but MM doesn't add them in order. So the playlists list the songs this way:
Track 10 - Album (added on the 10th)
Track 09 - Album (added on the 10th)
...
Track 10 - Album (added on the 9th)
Track 09 - Album (added on the 9th)
...
Track 10 - Album (added on the 8th)
...

Can a playlist criteria fix the sorting issue?

not sure what you are doing with the auto playlist. i think you need the gold version for what you want to do in them.

the sorting though is simple.

click on the colume header for the album then the artist. and look at the track numbers if the album has
the track numbers then they should be in order.

after you see they are in order. right click on the name of the playlist then on top of the context menu it should
have update play order, click that and you will have the list in that order.

I do have the Gold version, but I'm trying to set an Autoplaylist so I can sync it to my iPod everytime I add a new album.

For instance, I want the albums on the screenshot to be sorted by date added, but I want the tracks in those album sorted alphabetically (01, 02, 03 ...). Right now the albums are sorted by date added because only the 'date added' criteria is being applied, that's why Track 18 is before Track 17, and so on.

Until a new sort criteria, like "Date Added" (without time) is added, you can't sort an autoplaylist the way you'd like to. It's on the wishlist.
