How do you get '10.' to show after '9.' instead of after '1.' in numbered tracks, folders, etc. within your library?

Thanks

It would take forever to rename them all. In Windows Explorer, everything is ordered as it should be, but MM evidently, is not smart enough to recognize that.

Well it depends exactly what you're doing. MM holds the track number as a numeric value, but also as a string value so that people can do "1/12" or "1 of 12" if they want to. In whatever situation you're in it's obviously using the string field to sort and not the numeric field. I don't have this problem, 10 sorts after 9 for me. Also there are scripts which allow you to automatically add leading zeros if you decide to do that, you don't need to do it manually.

This is so bad, especially with audio books numbered with pages. It actually starts on page 1, then goes to page 10, then 100: 1, 10, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 11, 110, 111, 112, etc. See the pattern? This has to be fixed. What can I do?

Thanks

I actually agree. What you want is called "natural sort order". But as I understand it, it is a bit complex to implement.

As someone who never uses "1/12" I was perfectly happy when track number was only held as a numeric value, so I agree too! :)

Unless you use String track# sort is working as it should

I don't know what "string track#" is. How do I not use it?

It means a non-numerical character in the field. Such as "1/12" or "1+2" as these would no longer be considered a number but a word/string. If you only have numbers in the field, then it should properly sort them in numerical order.

Well, I'd like to be able to have them order correctly even with non-numerical characters in the title. However, even with no letters, it still does not order correctly.
