Deleteing Files
Trying to delete files on the Ipod touch does work, but media monkey hangs up.
E.g. I try to delete 10 songs. I'll mark them and right click "delete" - there comes a conformation box - "Yes" -> MM says goodbye.
Conformation Box stays on the screen - "Yes"-Button keeps in the onClick state - Cursor shows me the "wait" symbol. Taskmanager says MM is not responding.
I've to kill MM - BUT the songs are deleted from the ipod.
"Syncing Files" when playing them
Whenever I play a song in MM from my Ipod device or switch to another song the Ipod shows up the "syncing dialogue" and it takes some time bevore the song starts to play.

I can confirm this happens also on my Installation (MediaMonkey_3.0.6.1188_beta, iPhone v2.1)fadattf wrote:Deleteing Files

Hi,
I can't reproduce this either. Anyone with a debug log?

Hi there
MediaMonkey_3.0.6.1189_RC1 hungs also when I deleted about 20 MP3's at once.
After killing MM task, check iphone, they are deleted there.
Delete one by one with MM works
Delete two at once, MM hungs
Still have to say thx so far, using iTunes was so awful compared to a crasing MM while deleting, just kill the MM und restart it

Re: 3.0.6.1189 RC1 delete files from Ipod works, but MM hangs up
I've deleted over 1000 files at once from my iPhone, MM did have about 5-10 seconds where it would not respond but then it unlocked and successfully removed all the tracks.

Re: 3.0.6.1189 RC1 delete files from Ipod works, but MM hangs up
I've just downloaded the latest Debug-Version 3.0.6.1189 - RC1.rusty wrote:Hi,

Deleting just two files worked without any problem.
But then I tried to delete 14 files and MM hung up.
It is not possible to create a debug-logfile because MM isn't responding.
When I kill the process no debugfile has been created.
Any further ideas how to get some debug information for you?
Re: 3.0.6.1189 RC1 delete files from Ipod works, but MM hangs up
When the debug version of MM hangs it should generate a crash report after about 30 seconds, if not you should be able to generate one manually by pressing <right-CTRL><left-SHIFT><TAB>. Then provide some info in the crash report dialog and perhaps even the link to this thread.

I tried it, but it didn't work. MM does not create a debug file (not even 2 minutes after hanging).Bex wrote:When the debug version of MM hangs it should generate a crash report after about 30 seconds, if not you should be able to generate one manually by pressing <right-CTRL><left-SHIFT><TAB>. Pressing the shortcut doesn't work either (after MM hung up - before that point it is working).

I see. If you read this topic, there are instructions on how to download and install the DbgView application which creates a debug log for you.

This is really strange:Bex wrote:I see. If you read this topic, there are instructions on how to download and install the DbgView application which creates a debug log for you.

I've downloaded the MS Debug Tool and tried to delete the files (14 mp3s) once more. It took 2 Minutes (where MM was not responding) BUT it worked.
[saved debug log and closed dbgview]
After that I tried to delete once more 15 files and it worked within seconds.
[restarted MM]
Tried to delete 14 mp3s again and it worked again within a few seconds...
Anywho, I'll send the debug log to the mm-support crew and try to reproduce the problems again to find out more details.
