video playback action on xp pro bug??

Post by rovingcowboy »

action number 1.

1. start mediamonkey
2. play a song in mediamonkey to get a now playing list of only audio files.
3. now stop song and leave now playing list alone.
4. now go to the media tree, under playlist node find a playlist of only video files. select that playlist.
5. now look in listview area and pick the name of the video you want to play.
6. double click the video's name it starts then stops leaving the player control buttons on the player looking like it is playing the video. but it is not?
7. click the stop button on the player the control buttons turn to normal off postion.
8. click the play button the video play's as normal.

action number 2.

1. start mediamonkey
2. make sure the now playing list is still filled with only audio files.
3. go to the media tree and find the playlist node then find the playlist of only video files.
4. right click the name of the playlist in the media tree and click play now.
5. it does the same as number 6 in action number 1 above.

action number 3.

1. again make sure only audio files are in the now playing playlist.
2. find the video only playlist in the media tree and select it..
3. find the name of the video you want to play in the listview area.
4. double click it to start it.
5. now it stoped with in 2 seconds you have the name of the video in the player's title scroll which is what you want.
6. click the stop button on the player the control buttons turn to normal off postion and make sure the repeat and shuffle features are ON, and now click the button to play on the player and play the whole video.
7. after the video has finished it will change to the next random video. WRONG
8. in action number 3 here we find that starting the video this way did not change the now playing list it just played
the video and kept the now playing list of all audio files so now the next video is really one of the audio files in the now playing list that is still there.?

Are you sure the video isn't playing and MediaMonkey just fails to show the video (audio is playing), because that has been reported before.

different situation lowlander.

the above actions are all with mediamonkey 4 showing the video normaly as rusty finaly got that other error of mine fixed.

i put the ??'s in the subject as i am not sure if this is a bug or if it is the way it is to be, each action above is the steps to produce the results on my system if you do the actions and don't get the same results then its a bug. if you get the same results it might be a bug but might be the way monkey is working now.?? :-?

either way those actions are just things i noticed when playing my new red green video clips in mediamonkey 4 1361 :D
