Null album in Art browser [#8509]

Post by tommycrock »

If I look at the art browser for the Music node, I get an additional album showing for all songs with no album name. This 'album' doesn't show in any of Music's sub-nodes, although the songs are still present in the details window with no album selected. It's name is based on the first track, depending on the sort order used. Very minor but there you go... Could be called Unknown as in the album node and be shown under all sub-nodes then it would be more obvious what was going on

Hmmm, neither part of this seems fixed to me in 1444.

Works for me in 1444, are you sure you've updated?

Nor in 1445. Since I seem to have a few oddities that are fixed for others, I'm thinking a cleanish install would be a good idea. So should I backup my db and export sync settings, uninstall, reinstall, replace my db?

Might be worth trying a clean portable install so you don't disrupt your regular library. I did reopen the issue though.

Okay, I've tried a portable install (first portable install, assume I didn't have to do anything to make it a clean one) and this is still the same. PetrCBR, I've PMd you details of my db

Can you try with 1446 ? I can't reproduce even with your database.

Tested in 1448 and could not replicate either

Can you confirm as there was some small fixes that could fix also this?

Hi. Sorry for the time for me to get back, work's been really busy this week and eaten into my evenings and weekend. I'm still seeing basically the same - although slightly different, it's no longer the first album but the last:

Note that the albums that say unknown there are in the library as "Unknown", rather than just blank, and sort after all other alphabetic albums (e.g. Ziggy stardust). Since this is hardly a major problem and no-one else seems able to reproduce it I'd say forget it. However, to help you try and narrow it down, I was thinking it might be unusual that I have the file monitor running at startup. Don't know why that would change anything but thought I'd mention it.
