4.0.3.1466 Messed up my library view
I just installed version 4.0.3.1465 on my Win7 x64 and then opened up MM and it has totally messed up my Art with Details view of my library. Albums are all out of order. Usually clicking on Summary column header would resort it, but that is not working in this case. In addition, it is not grouping all of my songs together into an album as it should. And it certainly did before. I have spent an inordinant amount of time organizing and editing my library so that everthing displays properly and consistently. Lastly, it has caused many of my songs to show as an "Unknown" Album Artist. And I am certain that is not the case.
Is this just a buggy build?

You can see here how nothing I do will put my albums back in order.

And you can see how it won't group albums together the way that it should.

And you can see here how MM has orphaned individual songs in my library by giving it an "Album Artist" of "Unknown."

Keep in mind that the rest of the album that these songs belong to were not affected. They are located alphabetically where they should be, except that they are not in numerical order. (see problem #1)

Screenshots don't show column headers so it is hard to know what we're seeing like sort order.
Problem could be caused by fix for: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8599
I can't reproduce as I can't 1465 to run normally in the first place.

Good point. Here are some better screenshots. I should also mention that clicking on "Artwork" column header results in albums being sorted properly, except that it is then in alphabetical order by Album Title rather than Album Artist.

Here is a good example of what I mean when I say:

Sorted by "Summary"

Sorted by "Artwork"gpzbc wrote:I should also mention that clicking on "Artwork" column header results in albums being sorted properly, except that it is then in alphabetical order by Album Title rather than Album Artist.

Lowlander, thanks for your help.
Yes, it appears to be the same. I guess I will just wait for a fix. Honestly, I'm only mildly concerned about my library not sorting properly. But I am rather concerned that so many of my tracks are all of a sudden showing up with an "Unknown" album artist.

Re: 4.0.3.1466 Messed up my library view
I just installed version 4.0.3.1466 and all three of these 3 problems still exist.
This bug still exists even though it says resolved. http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8945
And this bug still exists. http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8929
And unfortunately, there are still a number of my tracks that still display the album artist as "Unknown." As I explained in my first few posts, I am 100% certain that they are not tagged that way, and that one of the test builds broke them. Although I can't be certain when exactly it happened. It is even possible that this happened after upgrading to MM4.
And I have tried rescanning my library to see if it updates the tag, but it does not. http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... wn#p326171
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Can you make a short video of the bugs, please?

I can no longer reproduce after the fix in 1466. Are you sure you have tested 1466? If yes, are there any specific steps to reproduce, maybe the video catch could show more.

My bad.
I can't reproduce bug 8929 either. I'm not sure why I included that last night. But the other two bugs still exist. I am going to PM a video.

Re: 4.0.3.1466 Messed up my library view
So I have been tinkering a bit more and made some progress. In Tools --> Options --> Playback Rules, I had this mask listed for Summary Format.
So I changed it to:
That seems to help sort tracks better, unless it has multiple discs. This is still messed up for some multi-disc albums. Some are fine, some aren't. See screenshots.
I should also add that I had never messed with these masks before. Maybe the new build changed it?
You can see that this multi-disc album is not sorting properly.

But this one is.

Code: Select all
$if(<Artist>,<Artist> - ,)<Title>
Code: Select all
$if(<Album>,<Album Artist>,<Artist>)

Re: 4.0.3.1466 Messed up my library view
It might also be important to note one more observation. I noticed when I am in Edit Properties box for a song, clicking on the right arrow (Update & Next Song) does not take me to the next song for those multi-disc albums that are messed up. It takes me to another song in an entirely different album and by an entirely different artist.
