CleanMM
I just found this really great skin over here. It's the best I've seen so far.
Just curious, nohitter151, why I'm unable to click on the MediaMonkey icon in the title bar to call up it's menu, or double-click it to close. Any chance you could fix this?

Re: CleanMM
icon in the title bar is just sign post we can't do any programing to it when skinning,
but you can right click on there and get the context menu.

Re: CleanMM
So what's a sign post, and why would it break the functionality of the title bar icon?

Re: CleanMM
Still not sure what you mean by "sign post", but if you can't do any programming to it, how has this skin managed to change it's functionality?

Re: CleanMM
Hi Xichael,
I also like the look of that clean skin you've found. I much prefer those style of skins: clean, sharp lines, easy colour scheme on the eye to read your info - just perfect. From many of the skins I've seen available, the only two really that I genuinely like are WMP11 and Helium. Many others have clashing, hard to read colours, bulky frames and bulging this and that. The ones you've found above plus the two I like here are the most truly professional looking ones around.
The only distracting thing about Helium's skin is it's "black" colour rating stars. The original Helium designer should have made them orange, blue or yelllow like MM. I might ask Morten if it's possible he can offer his Helium skin with those other star colours instead.

Re: CleanMM
Signpost.
noun:
1. A post bearing a sign that gives directions or shows the way
verb:
1. Mark with a signpost, as of a path
sign.
verb:
1. place signs along road side.
"sign an intersection"; "This road has been signed"
noun:
1. A public display of a message
"he posted signs in all the shop windows"
when skinning there is no image there just a square to mark where the image goes. we can move it alittle on the
title bar but we can't program any functions in to it. so it only has what the developlers can program in to it which is on my skins i use and on all the versions of mediamonkey i've had, has always been a right click menu.

Re: CleanMM
On the "Gilded" and "Blue Glass" skins that come with MM, it's a left-click menu. It's always been a left-click menu, like in all other programs, except with certain 3rd party skins.
So, what can be done to give CleanMM (and other skins with this issue) the same menu bar icon behavior as the default MM skin? What are skinners doing (or not doing) to cause this behavior? Or is this some kind of problem with the skinning engine?

Re: CleanMM
okay i typed right click but was thinking left click does the thought count here?
but the menu is a simple one of the same buttons on the right of the title bar.
there is nothing done here by the skinners for that to work.
you said blue glass, blue glass no longer as of 3.1 comes with mediamonkey
it was made too strange to work on all computers and had some issues.
but nohitter151's vitrusblue skin replaced it in the default loads.
your saying that skin makes me think you don't have the newest version of monkey.
3.2.1942 is the latest version i believe. there were lots of major error fixes from the
one that included blue glass skin till now.

Re: CleanMM
Yep I have the latest version: 3.2.0.1294
I have both Blue Glass and VitreousBlue, but the latter suffers the same problem as CleanMM.
This is such an issue for me because I often close windows by double clicking on the menu bar icon.
Hopefully nohitter151 will show up here with some solutions...

Re: CleanMM
I'm not sure, I checked all of my skins and they all behave the same way. I'd have to look into how it works in those other skins.

Re: CleanMM
well could be the fact the developers have the exit command on the bottom of the menu and not the top.xichael wrote:Yep I have the latest version: 3.2.0.1294

if it was on the top before then you could have double clicked it and got it to exit monkey.
the double click only takes the first command on the menu. since its not the exit one, i'm wondering if they got complaints of monkey closing when people tried to use the menu so they moved the command down to the bottom?
of course i believe that is a windows menu for the shell that pops up which means microsoft could have changed it ?

Re: CleanMM
This has become my standard skin, as I love the simplicity and cleanliness of it. However, I don't even know if the creator of the skin is here, but I do have one request: Can you/he/she make the border thinner? It's a very fat, flat gray border. I'm not sure the MM skinning system allows this, but other themes don't seem to have quite such a thick border.
