B3: "your library is being upgraded to the latest versi
I've run MM3 B3 at least ten times since installation. About 20 minutes ago I started it up again, only now I get a dialog box with the message "Your library is being upgraded to the latest version. It can take up to several minutes..."
This was reported about version A7, with no resolution that I could see:
1) It's been running for about 20 minutes. At what point should I decide it's hung?
2) Mostly a curiosity thing; why is it upgrading the library now, instead of at the first startup after installation?
3) Why does the dialog box have an "X" implying that the process can be stopped? Why does clicking on the "X" do nothing?
Thanks.

The same problem with me. Yesterday I started MM3 for the 15th time and I got a dialog box with this message. After nearly 20 minutes I decided to stop this process and canceled it. Before this I made a copy of my database. And after starting MM3 again, it started in the normal way. Why?

Same thing happened to me last night. I was as puzzled as both of you. Mine was still running after about 20 minutes, and I turned off the monitor and went to bed. I haven't checked it today to see whether it completed. I'll take a look when I get home. Question still is, why did it just now decide to do an update after using it for a while? Very odd how all of us have had this happen on exactly the same day.

Didn't ever complete
I took a look when I got home and found that it was still claiming to have been converting. Killed the job and restarted the program, finding that it didn't seem to have hurt anything. Still wondering why we all had this happen.

Database upgrade process
Promised Planet,
MM is _supposed_ to do the db upgrade once: the first time MM 3 is run (if it doesn't detect a pre-existent MM3 db, and the user agrees to import the 2.5 db).
The problems you've described _are_ bugs--MM should not be doing an upgrade if an MM3 db exists. The fact that it is occuring means that MM somehow 'thinks' that the MM3 db doesn't exist...

unneeded upgrades
We certainly hope so. We'll just need a couple of debug reports to get to the bottom of this.

I tried to do this but no dialog is brought up. I killed the process, restarted MM3 and guess... the library continues to upgrade. Suppose I'm stuck with this foreverjiri wrote:It could be a bug. In case anything like this happens to you, please try to press Right Control + Left Shift + Tab keys, which should bring up a dialog that would send us some debug information.
