Radio Station uses lastfm:registered protocol assigned to Last.FM player, but from others we are investigating this closely.

EDIT: Also if someone wonders about iPod Playcount Scrobbling Read Oficial FAQ on Last.FM

Just in case any newbies are here... Make sure you shut down mediamonkey before downloading the old plugin and starting that installer. Its these lil mistakes that make people really frustrated imo.

In case it helps anyone out there, the best program I've found to scrobble iPod playcounts is a java program called Lastpod.

EDIT=by the way, to give credit where it is due, it was a kind soul named gtbuzz on this very forum who pointed Lastpod out to me awhile back...

I'm Curious if it works when you post some from winamp and then post some other from LastPod and tracks are older than your last track posted from Winamp (I hope I explained what exactly I want to gain and test).

No, this only works if you use the offcial last.fm-application with iTunes (you can't use it with MM or Winamp). I tried to find out why some time ago and someone from this forum told me that's it simply uses a different 'player-id' (do you know what I mean? there's another word...) which has less restrictions.
But what lastpod is able to do (although it's buggy): Since on ipods only the last play time is stored lastpod calculates (simulates/interpolates/what ever :)) the other plays according to the playcounter.
Example: If you played a track three times and you only submit the content of iTunesDB (I think) then it only will be submitted once. Lastpod (and other plugins like isproggler) also use the 'Play Counts' file and just calculate two other times when the song could have been played.
But as I said in Lastpod this doesn't work perfectly because it sometimes calculates the same time for two songs and then one of them get's triggered from last.fms spam protection. Maybe this wouldn't happen if lastpod also would use the 'player-id' of the official last.fm-ipod-plugin...

By the way: Nice features for a native implementaion would be:
-Submission for MM plays
-Submission for portable plays
-'Pause (cache) submission untill iPod is connected'-option to avoid last.fms spamprotection if you want to submit ipod plays later. OR another solution, for example with the better 'player-id'.

Radiostations would be nice too, altough I don't need them. :)

I agree 100% with that.

Those two are very limited by Last.FM Protocol Itself as there is no way legally to send two files played at different time. This needs to be thought very clearly as mess could be made and MediaMonkey could be banned. For example My Library is 4 years old and have 23417 Uniquely Played tracks (that still needs to be multiplied with play number for each track) and if we do that I'm certain that will make mess on Last.FM a lot and I personally do not wanna see MediaMonkey get Banned.

Submission of portable plays shouldn't be a problem too, since also the official plugin does it AND also the official plugin simulates multiple plays of ipods AFAIK! It's nothing illegal it's just a way to bypass ipods-limitation. Also the most known last-fm-plugins like iSproggler (http://www.last.fm/group/iSproggler ; almost 40'000 users) and lastpod do this and they don't get banned!

About the last point: The idea in second sentence could be illegal that's right! But the first isn't a problem because the playtimes don't get manipulated. It just doesn't submitts them until you connect (=sync) your ipod. So it just moves the plays into a cache like it does when you don't have a internet connection. Do you understand? By the last.fm-protocoll there's no need to upload the plays immediately.
Also the winamp-ipod-plugin (ml_ipod) supports this:
http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/wiki/Unique_Extra_features#Last.fm_support wrote:iPod mode
Immediate Submission while iPod is connected: If a song is played in Winamp and the iPod is not connected, the song submission to last.fm will be held until the iPod is reopened in Winamp, and its song plays can be retrieved. If the iPod is connected, its songs have already been submitted, so Winamp song plays are sent immediately. This mode is ideal for situations when music is played on both iPod and Winamp frequently.
And I don't know what you mean by the last sentence. I don't think that all the previous plays should be submitted at all... (Altough the official plugin with iTunes does)

So the three features I mentioned in the last post are legal and MM would surely not get banned because of this. IMHO it would be really nice if they could be implemented because for ipod useres MM the would get the best and only all-in-one with a complete last.fm support (except iTunes...). If you don't want to implement them anyway please make atleast an easy option to pause or disable submission in MM. Because I listen a lot on my ipod and I really want to submit them.

By the way: If you have any questions just contact me - also over MSN or Skype! :)

Are you sure you installed it in the correct folder? In the MediaMonkey-options under general plugins you should find the plugin with version number 2.0.45.0.

I installed it into: C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Plugins directory and I do see 2.0.45.0. version of Audioscrobler Winamp plugin in my general plugins options. Problem is when I try to click on configure button nothing happens. Shouldn't i insert my last.fm account data there? Anyways it just doesn't transmit any listening tracks to my account. Kinda sad ...

Thanks for your time!

@sasapuksic: No, you can't configure the plugin over MM (or any other media player). Since version 2 of the plugin you have to enter your login data in the last.fm-application itself. You should see a trayicon of when you start MM. Or look in the start-menu.

The problem is tray icon doesn't start ...
I'm on vista system. Maybe thats the reason. :(

I've vista, too. So that shouldn't be a problem. Try to un- and reinstall the whole last.fm-application and plugins (older version which is linked here).
