iPod Fast Scrolling [3785]

Post by jakemb21 »

I have a 60gb video ipod and the syncing of my music is working great with MediaMonkey RC-1. There is one issue though that I have noticed. When I scroll through my artists and the fast scrolling appears (letter appears), I keep getting a T when I shouldn't (i.e. if I'm in the B's it will jump to T and then go back to B or next to C when appropriate). I think this has something to do with the artists that start with "The". If I stop on the T it will go to the proper letter (i.e. B). Any help to figure out how to prevent this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the great work,
Jake

Fast scrolling on iPod shows prefix letters

Post by rusty »

We decided to defer to 3.01 since the solution is unclear. Options are:

a) disable prefixes entirely when synching to the iPod (i.e. show 'The Beatles' under 'T')
b) add an option to the iPod device config re. whether to leave it as is or to disable 'ignore prefixes' for the purposes of synchronization.

We felt that a) may not be desirable, and that we're too late in the dev cycle to implement b) so best solution would be to leave as is until 3.01.

Well with iTunes it works! The prefix are shown but ignored by sorting and fast scrolling. So it's possible...
