Why is mediamonkey tagging my files?

I was playing one of my audiobooks, and when I was about to close MM I noticed that it was working on tagging a file, namely the audiobook I had just been playing. Why? I never told MM to do anything with the tags.

Check your settings under "Tools -> Options -> Library -> Tags & Playlists". If you have "Update tags when editing properties" enabled, MM3 will automatically write the tags to the file if anything changes, without you having to do anything.

also, for audiobooks/podcasts I believe it sets a 'bookmark' tag so it knows where to resume.

If that is the case, it's retarded. Why would you want to process a file that's hundreds of megs in size to place a bookmark? MM has a database, use it...

I would expect that it sets the tag for other applications to make use of it (ie ipods etc).

iTunes does not stor bookmarks in the id3-tags, it stores them in.. the Database...

I would also prefer to store bookmarks in a file rather than in a database, so i don't need allways to take a database along with a file if i want to use it somewhere else.
