I like the single click rating, so please make it a user option. :)

If I have selected a blok of songs either continous or discontinous, and next I click just one of those selected songs to select just that one, It enters in edit mode, but I don't want to edit, just to select.

It's a pain for me to have to click one in wath ever other song and then click the second one in the desired song. Just two clicks. So I prefer click twice in the desired song.

I'm not alone :)

I've repeatedly been changing ratings throughout the betas because of this - it took me a while to realise it was even happening (and hence I'm not sure quite what damage i've done already). Please add my vote for "something different to single-click updates".

Bummer... I really missed the old MM2 behavior. 3.0 has made me rate my music wrongly countless times already. Setting it to unknown means i have to rerate them too. Sigh.

I have to agree with nohitter151, undo would be much better than double/two click. I love the one click rating. It makes the "work process" somewhat natural and intuitive. Plus, working on the undo function would solve much more problems at the same time, so programming would be more efficient ;-)

I keep rating songs accidentally. That's just a pain in the back. Making it a user option seems to be a good solution.

Undo better then any promt.

I like the fact that rating is super easy. Forcing double click or worse yet a prompt will only slow down users in a program that is suppose to handle large amounts of music quickly.

Undo feature would be nice for ratings, dragging track ext. I think undo would be a great feature to add. No prompts ( are you sure ).

accidental rating

Post by rusty »

For RC5 we'll try the iTunes approach: i.e. track must first be selected before rating can occur.

Let's see whether most users prefer this or not.

For 3.1 it might be best to make it configurable.

thank you

Thanks... It feels a bit clunky, but it's so much safer, it's clearer if you've accidentally started changing the rating now.

(Personally I'd still lean towards turning it off entirely as an option, and only allow rating changes via right-mouse)

Most appreciated.
