I pod nano synch issues [4172]

1) auto level option doesn't work - tracks keep same leveling regardless option selected or not
2) I did small number of chnages (couple tags update, removed a file from synch list) result - over 100 files were updated during next sync
3) I changes the level of some files - next synch didn't update it.

iPod synch issues RC5

Post by rusty »

Hi,

I tested these in RC5 and :

1. Auto-leveling does work when I tested it. You can verify by analyzing the volume (Tools > Analyze Volume) of the tracks on the iPod and you'll see that the volume levels differ from the originals. Note: it does NOT make sense to use this function with an iPod, since the iPod has Soundcheck built in--i.e. if MM has analyzed volume levels, then the iPod will automatically adjust playback levels based on the analyzed values.

2. Not sure--can't replicate.

3. Thx--looking into this.

There is a problem with item 1 in that you can specify the "Target volume for leveling tracks" (in Tools->Options), however if you specify anything other than 89db, that will not be carried over to the Soundcheck value, i.e. MM always uses 89db for the Soundcheck target volume, regardless of the target values specific in the MM Options.

I would like to see this configurable.
