Scanning for Media on Staring MediaMonkey

Post by jackostanis »

Can someone help with this problem. I have installed the latest version of MediaMonkey and after installing it let it scan my Music library. The problem I have is that after each restart of my PC and running MediaMonkey it says this is the first time I have run it and wants to rescan for media.I have uninstalled and done a clean reinstall but it keeps happening. I was not having this problem with version 2.x. Can anyone shed some light on this.

Thanks

I am having this problem also, but I still use Media Monkey 2.5.5.998. I always have to recreate my Magic Nodes.

If you are using Vista and not running MediaMonkey as administrator (in the properties, not just your account is an administrator one) then the program will not be granted the permissions it needs to modify the MediaMonkey.ini file - this might be what's causing your problem.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

I should have said that this problem happens using XP Home Edition. It runs fine using Vista Premium
