Just tested the latest beta to see whether it fixes the bug I was experiencing ( http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24358 ). This new beta version does contain a partial fix for the problem:
4246 Fixed Auto-Tag from Web Album Art settings don't persist for saving Art to a file
But still there is a problem that isn't fixed. And that is when I use the "Auto-Tag from web"-feature for album art. When I select "Save image to album folder" and select an alternate filename (something like thumb.jpg) and select "In the future do not ask". It works the first time: I get a file called "thumb.jpg" but for the 2nd time (and all other times) I get "folder.jpg" again.
Steps to reproduce:
- I go to the "Auto-Tag from web" screen;
- Let MM get the album info + art from ie. Amazon;
- I select "Auto-Tag";
- Now one gets the , and get the "Add Album Art" dialog;
- Now I WANT to select "Save image to album folder" and name it "thumb.jpg". Next I de-select/disable "Save image to tag (if possible). And last but not least select/enable "In the future, do not ask me"
- I press "OK"
- I get a file called "thumb.jpg"
- I do this again for the next album now and instead of getting "thumb.jpg" , I get "folder.jpg" (again).
[MM 3.0.2.1129] Auto-Tag from Web Album Art bug (again)
Moderator: Gurus
arnova, you are right that there is still a little glitch in this area.
The reason is that we tried to make the album art configuration more global, but there is still some inconsistency / mismatch.
i.e.
Auto tag from web is using the same setting as is configured in
Options -> Tags & Playlists -> Album Art
and therefore there should be rather only a link to this setting or a common configuration framework that we are planning for the next version in order to eliminated this user confusion / mismatch. The reason for deferring is that all strings have been already translated and we have quite frozen UI for MM 3.0.
So configuration via
Options -> Tags & Playlists -> Album Art
should solve your issue for this version.
Hopefully you understand.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Ludek.

Yes, I understand. Just changed it in the proper location but indeed the current setting is a little confusing as the "Don't ask again" option actually only applies to to checkboxes and not the filename itself. But now I know how get MM to do what I want, so I'm happy
Thanks!
ps. I'm really thinking about buying a MM license as I really like the program, especially MM3.
