Hi,
Hoping that someone out there can help.
I've just transferred all my Flac files from an internal H/D to an external H/D, since doing this i've noticed that the files are sometimes jumping, it's never happend before. I've checked the files with TLH and they seem to be fine, everything is verified and there seems nothing wrong but they are still skipping.
Has anyone any idea of what could be the problem..

Playback problem; Flac files are skipping

Do they jump within the song or to the next song?
You could try to increase the buffer for the output plugin you use in the MediaMonkey options. You can also try switching output plugin.
What type of external drive do you use?

Hi,
The external is a 750gb Western Digital brand spanking new. I re-downloaded one of the jumping files again, this time to an internal drive and found the same fault so it's not a drive fault. I hace asked the uploader to check his source file but it seems unlikely to be there as the files pass the verification test on TLH.
You say about increasing the buffer....can you direct me eg tools>option>advance etc etc and i'll give that a go.
Thanks for taking the time to help, much appreciated

and just to clarify, it isn't skipping within the same track, it is skipping to the beginning of the next one, then some seconds later to the next one, and so on.

Starts up and sounds fine, then starts skipping ahead randomly through the next tracks in the album. Does my output plugin need an update? If so, where do I get it?

Re: Playback problem; Flac files are skipping
I have the same problem on FLAC and WMA, in external 400Gb Freecom USB2.0 drive. The skips are within the file, leaving a moment's silence. I'm using 'MediaMonkey DirectSound output' and see no buffer settiings to tweak.
