MASA enters onto the exception list the selected text if any, else the leftward text less any existing exceptions and terminal separators.

PLEASE no. The 3.0 ';' messup can by solved only by less character abuse, not more.

Totally untrue. MM users /do/ have ';' in these tags - these are the users suffering the messup that needs fixing.

The correct way to achieve this is for MM to preserve the user tags intact (as it did in MM 2.5) and then upon /display/ to do any multi-artist/genre presentation in accord with the separator/exception list, as proposed.
