1177 auto sync loses Flac art work and track length

Post by HerbH »

I am auto syncing to an external hard drive via USBMass1 driver. The sync goes fine but when I view the synced files in MM, I see that the flac files have no art work and all flac tracks have the length 1:14:35. The mp3 files seem to have sync over with no problem.

The original files all have the album art embedded in each file. Changing the "sync all album art to track folders" or "copy album art to track tags" seems to have no effect.

I have looked at the synced files with Tag & Rename and DbAudioConverter. Both of these programs show that the art work and the track lengths are fine. But somehow MM is not reading these synced files correctly.

Great program. Thanks

Does an "Add/Rescan tracks to library" help at all?

Yes. Somewhat.

Adding these autosynced tracks to the library, does seem to pick up some of the album art. Which ones are recognized seems to depend on the the "sync all album art to track folders" or "copy album art to track tags" settings. I will have to experiment to see which setting makes this work.

That said the track lengths are still 1:14:35 and I noticed that the bit rates seem wrong - most tracks show bitrates around 30-40, instead of the several hundred that I'm used to with flac files.

All of this behavior seems strange since the flac tracks are just being copied from one place to another. But I guess there must be more to it than that.

thanks

i'm having trouble with flac as well, but the add/rescan (at least) seems to show me what is actually in the files.

at worst, I have cleared the library and then done an add/rescan - a bit drastic, but again, it at least shows me what is 'really' there.

Thx. We found an issue with syncing Album Art to FLAC's tag.
Will be fixed in the next release.

I have found that the trouble with the FLAC track lengths being reported as 1:14:35 only occurs with files that were encoded with the flac version from Feb of 2005. FLAC files that were encoded using later versions of FLAC do not show this problem.

I updated all my files to the most recent FLAC (using DbPowerAmp) and all the problems I was having with album art and track length went away.

Thought that might help. Love the program
