It also looks like installing WINE under Mac OS X is not an easy feature, specially if you want the latest WINE version. Maybe somebody can try?

MM on Mac with Parallels

Postby Kamaron » Wed May 07, 2008 4:44 am

Well Boys, I have MM running on my iMac under Parallels.
Now I would like to go a step forward: I have an AirPort Express that connects through WiFi with my iMac and sends the sound directly to my stereo.
It works well with iTunes and the sound quality is stunning.
The problem now is that I don't know how to make it work with MM inside Parallels.
I guess that this is an issue with Parallels rather than MM, but any of you have tried (and succeded) sending the sound from MM to the AirPort?

Thanks for your help

mm on mac

Postby jelibam » Wed May 07, 2008 5:40 am

another supporter of mm for mac os here. my music is all in flac on an external hd, played via my squeezebox. I'd love to have mm to sort the tags. just tried vm fusion with xp but to my mind it just isn't a user friendly setup...windows won't see external drive formatted for mac etc

there's a program called "macdrive" for windows, which, you guessed it, lets it read (and write) mac drives. seems solid and reliable.
another approach would be to tell vmware to disconnect the external drive, so that it mounts in os x instead, and then configure your vmware virtual machine to use the drive as a shared path.

crossover is a more easy-to-use system, which is built on wine.

MM for Mac OSX

Postby Ardri » Thu May 15, 2008 11:12 pm

And another voice - A happy Gold licensee, I switched to mac and really miss MM. It blows iTunes off the screen.

Count me in as another vote.

PS - congrats to the MM development team for a terrific product.

one more voice. I have a gold licence, I switched, and I hate iTunes. It does not compare to MM in any way.
I would happily buy a new licence for a MM Mac version.

Another gold member here about to go Mac. I'd like to use a native version of MediaMonkey and would gladly pay for a new license. Cheers.

I am also interested in MM for Mac. I have a gold license and a new iMac. I tried to run MM on a virtual machine. It worked OK, but not as smoothly as I would have liked.

Add me to the list of people who are desperatly waiting for a mac version of this program. This is about the only program I would pay for if only their was a mac. build version.

I recently swapped between pc and mac so now i use mediamonkey on a virtual machine. I've tried about 25 different player, but not even one gets close to the efficiency of Media Monkey. I only used it for a short while, but fell in love immediatly. After i sorted out a big number of artists in about half the time (in weeks) that i'd normally take when sorting out my music using a different program.

Pleeeaaasee build a mac(linux) version...

Another plead for a MAC version

Postby Eric » Mon Jun 02, 2008 7:57 am

Hi, I've recently converted to MAC and really would like an MM MAC version!
The only thing out there currently is iTunes and it sucks.
As soon as you guys convert this great app you own the Mac Media Player market!

Yet another vote for MM on the Mac. I am a happy Gold MM customer twice over and I refuse to downgrade to iTunes or anything else. I am running MM inside VMWare but I just wish it was native, would be so much better.

I'd happily pre-buy another license as a donation of sorts.
