Add a "playlist(s)" column

Post by Zee »

Suggest for MM to add a "PLAYLIST" column?

Therefore, when viewing all song titles, I can see which songs are on what playlist(s), as well as see if any songs are NOT associated with any playlist. It makes creating lists more efficient by being able to see which songs I've already chosen for certain playlists.

Thanks.

How do you propose to have this column if the song(s) exists on more than one playlist? Although I would be content if there was a column that had a yes/no type check box if the song(s) existed in amy playlist.

At the minimum:
A playlist column with a checkbox (or "yes" or "no") that would at least let the user know if the song exists on at least one playlist, although it wouldn't specify which one(s).

Ideally:
A playlist column that displays the playlist name. If a song was on more than one playlist, the playlist names would appear next to each other all in one row of the "Playlist" column, each playlist name separated by a slash and placed alphabetically. For example:

COLUMN1 COLUMN2
SongName [playlist_A] / [playlist_B] / [playlist_C] / ...

Alternatively/Additionally:
There could be a folder in the directory tree that states "Non-playlisted Songs" (or "Not Playlisted"), which lists all songs that are not on any playlist. Here, you can drag songs to playlists. As you do so, each song is eliminated from the list, and you could continue dragging, for example, until no more songs exist.

Just my 2 cents.

This would be my last desired result, but it would be better than what we have now.

Personally, I would like more options within the Playlist node or maybe a separate playlist management node, that would allow for more playlist management, viewing options other than having to individually select the song to see the playlists that the song exists on.

You can accomplish this using either the Magic Nodes or My Custom Nodes scripts.

Oh man that is a genius idea. if this come to live. It may give me the courage to classify my 25000+ tracks in playlists. I always say that I should do it. but it looks like such a gigantic work to accomplish.

Oh by the way. Is it possible to make a script that do that using a custom field?
