Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
I'm a former Windows power-user that switched to Mac two years ago. Since then, the lack of a MediaMonkey (or similar) player/organizer is my biggest frustration. iTunes just doesn't cut it and Parallels Desktop with WinXP is too much of a resource hog just to run MM. I would donate $100 to MM strictly for Mac version development... just show me the roadmap and commitment and I'll be behind you!

I'd really do anything to have Media Monkey on my Mac - name your price!!!
So miss it from my PC - it's really the only bad thing I've found about switching from PC to Mac

Lets just get the money straight to the developers
We should indeed get a petition together pledging say $75 towards the development of this great piece of software for Mac.
I'd like to start by offering my email address and a pledge that if the developer would contact me I'd gladly paypal the money over and wait however long it takes to get Media Monkey Mac off the ground.
Nothing else touches it for those who've got tons of music and wanna enjoy it!
Peace - Frank

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
I love my Mac. But the ONLY thing I miss from Windows is MediaMonkey. iTunes just doesn't come close. I have a large collection of FLAC and SHN files that iTunes won't even recognize.
More features I miss the most about MediaMonkey (summed up nicely by another frustrated user):
1. Watch a folder for new music files
2. Organize my music in a customizable folder structure based on the song tags
3. Tag files or a full album using information from Amazon.com or other sources
4. Convert music files and synchronize with generic mp3 players.
I'm another Gold member who would LOVE a port to OS X. In the meantime, I will have to try and get by using SongBird and Cog.

I am not an iTunes expert (haven't used it anytime), but friends tried to convinced me thatandyb123 wrote:I love my Mac. But the ONLY thing I miss from Windows is MediaMonkey. iTunes just doesn't come close. I have a large collection of FLAC and SHN files that iTunes won't even recognize.

1.This is already done by iTunes
2.At least file name could change if you change song title (check the options)
3.It uses iTunes store for tags and covers
About the fourth step... well, you know how it is: Vendor lock-in. I know that iTunes is already there by default, but has anybody of you tried any other alternative? Something like Songbird? I have not tried that because of no compelling reason to do so.

I'd like to put my name on this as well. I'm ready to pay for it.
Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
crap. thought i was logged in. Anyway, I'd like this as well. Media Monkey works great, and there's no good alternatives on OS X.

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
The ONLY reason I now use VM Ware on my Mac is for MediaMonkey. Media Monkey is the only way to organize and play my music. Itunes is just so restrictive! I would pay at least $100 for a mac version. As a user said before show me the roadmap and I will show you the money!!!

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
I just got a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5 and I love it! It's just that I miss MediaMonkey very much. iTunes just doesn't cut it and going back to Windows doesn't cut it either. Running WIndows in VMware also doesn't cut it. I'd gladly pay for another lifetime license just to get MM on the Mac. All of my other audio and video stuff runs great on the Mac and all of my UNIX tools from way back are here. It really is a very nice machine for audio and video.
Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
I'm Gold too and would pay. I am buying a MAC s soon as I can settle on the model. From my research it can run Windows XP. Does that mean I can still use MM on the MAC when I boot with XP? Can the MAC still find my music folders on the server? (I have a server with all the files shared by my PCs and laptop PCs right now.

For deekay (I'm using media monkey on my Imac with parallels desktop and windows xp. it works great for me.)
Off topic but can you give me info on my situation? I really want to switch to MAC but been a MM GOLD for a while and would NEVER give it up.
Just what is parrallels, how difficult to set up and how would I get it? I have a home wireless network and my new mac would need to access the music files on an external hard drive (which is attached to a PC through my DSl wireless gateway/router). I could also connect the external hard drive to the new mac by USB if that would work better. montana.granny@yahoo.com
THANKS
And to MM developers. I don't know where all of us Windows (and former Windows) uses would be without you. You are desperately needed and I hope you can continue making MM the absolute best. mtgranny
