PS (If I didn't mention this then the idea might just fade away. That's majorly dumb considering the solution is already there ready to be used. If you don't like the karaoke display then you would just select another display, Ie.. Multi Line, Static line etc.. as it was designed to enhance & expand not to replace.)
Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3+4]
Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
No, I'm not kidding. When I thought of it and then got the free key, I thought "Great I ->suggested<- something that may or may not work, it's just a good sounding idea". Suggestions in the coding world are cheaper then a dime a dozen. I felt I might also be sending this guy into the nul bin, that is, suggesting to him to code something that may not have worked. Mean while if he did so and IT DIDN'T WORK then he's lost time and money.
I could'nt live with that !:o I took that idea and turned it into working code and sent it to him. Component uses a timing scheme based hi res timing intervals. The component also solved another problem (not really a problem more like a hassle) adding a ->REALLY EASY and FUN<- way to encode the lyrics (I'm not telling). Encoding is such that it can be used in place of the current [00:00.76] encoding though given it is a *slightly* longer encoding, but not much! End result is a easier to use, more accurate lyrics display making a very cool plug'n even cooler! The code has already been written and donated.
I just wanna see the official karaoke bouncing ball display in Minilyrics already, bless it!

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
Turns out it was because the skin was making the titlebars disappear (just incase anyone goes on here complaining bout that) -- skin screws up all panels not just this one

Hello @all...
there is a beta of the new minilyrics version 6 ready for download on crintsoft.com
Unfortunately the new version doesn't work with minilyrcis embedder (at least for me)... and the album artwork isn't be resized yet
Hope the final release will make better...

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
finally a lyrics panel that can be embedded - if only i could set it up properly:
minilyrics panel shows up and works fine
mediamonkey embedded panel shows up and works fine
lyrics however are not displayed in the MM panel, but in the original minilyrics panel.
script is not visible when pulling up from within tools/scripts menu
what am i doing wrong? thanks

1. There are lots of other lyrics panels available in the scripts and components forum.sarlosb wrote:finally a lyrics panel that can be embedded - if only i could set it up properly:

2. Lyrics aren't displayed in the MM panel - there could be a couple of reasons for this. Are you saving the downloaded lyrics to the mp3 track tags or just to a file? Are you saving synchronized or unsynchronized lyrics? Do you have MM Gold and if so, do you have file monitor enabled on your mp3s?
3. All scripts are not accessible from Tools -> Scripts, only certain ones. The minilyrics panel can be turned on/off under the "View" menu.

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
I downloaded the new MiniLyrics 6.0.3619 beta2 but this failed to embed at all, giving me an error that I can't remember word-for-word but along the lines of the main MiniLyrics window not being visible. So I downgraded to 5.7.3418 and it works almost perfectly. Maybe I'm missing something here but when it downloads a txt file the lyrics just sit there (obviously) but I get no bar to scroll them with. So I get to see the first few lines of the song and that's it, unless I use the cursor keys to move down a line at a time. Should I be seeing a scroll bar in the embedded window, I'm thinking yes?
The only way to scroll is to left-click on the currently highlighted line and drag, but once I go outside of the embedded window it jumps back.

What a great toy this is, especially if you want to start loading lyrics into your tags. BUT: if you're considering using it AND you were happy that MM3's player finally gave us built-in crossfading then you will want to kill Minilyrics - the lyric search & DL process delays the player (in fact it seems to lock-up everything on my system for a few seconds). I'm also not too keen on the program 'hiding' its process from taskmanager (a hallmark of malware), but it's a great toy nonetheless.

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
Can't agree with you on either point, I use crossfade all the time and have never had a problem with it and Minilyrics at the same time. And yeah, ML is hidden from task manager, but it opens and closes with your music program of choice and theres also a Minilyrics icon in the notification area so you can know when its on.jpskippy wrote:What a great toy this is, especially if you want to start loading lyrics into your tags. Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
nohitter, out of curiosity: has Minilyrics already associated most of your music-to-lyrics? Most of my library has no lyrics yet -- maybe that's why I'm seeing such jittery performance?

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
Yeah, I've actually got lyrics for every song. I also don't download the lyrics automatically - so maybe that could be the difference, though when I used to have them downloaded automatically I never had a problem.jpskippy wrote:nohitter, out of curiosity: has Minilyrics already associated most of your music-to-lyrics? Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
Brilliant script - thanks Steegy.
I just started using this great script to save lyrics into my MP3s (synchronized and unsynchronized). I tested it with a first batch of 100 songs. I then used MediaMonkey (3.0.3.1183) to sync the updated MP3s to my iPod Touch. I could view the lyrics of all 100 songs via both MediaMonkey and iPod Touch - all good. I then ran another batch of 750 songs. The script ran without problems and the lyrics could be viewed via MediaMonkey. Now the problem....I synced the newly updated 750 songs to my iPod Touch but the lyrics can not be viewed for these new 750 songs. When trying to view the lyrics on my iPod Touch it says "Loading Lyrics..." and does not display. I can still view the lyrics correctly for the first 100 songs but not the 750. Any ideas before I add lyrics to the rest of my library? P.S. I am using MiniLyrics 5.7.3418 not the new v6 beta. Thanks.

I had the same problem. Removing all of the music from my iPhone and then putting it back on with MM fixed the problem.jonp wrote:Brilliant script - thanks Steegy.

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
Thanks nohitter151 - your suggestion worked
Now back to adding lyrics to the rest of my library. I am using dave777's idea of using Script SongPreviewer (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10146) to play each song for 10 seconds. This way my whole library will slowly, automatically, have lyrics added - cool. I am also using trixmoto's Missing Lyrics (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11762) to list the tracks that need to have lyrics added.

Re: Embedded Minilyrics v1.4b [MM2+3]
I had the problem with "MiniLyrics couldn't be embedded. Possibly its window, or the embedder window, isn't visible." when starting MM.
After changing the following in MiniLyrics C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\Embedder.vbs it was working!
Const EmbedTriesMax = 20
change to
Const EmbedTriesMax = 200 (maybe a big number, but just to be sure
