Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
Hm,
My solution to that was to tag by Album if I thought it was something specific or different than the "norm",,,
The Artist based, LastFM Genre search, however, doesn't account for the cross genre/etc either,, <at least not that I have been able to find>
So the other list wouldn't really change the artist based genre search, would it? But might allow more flexability with mass tagging since the file could be changed at whim,

Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
I cant get the tagging to work properly. I use custom field 1 as nationality and made a whitelist with many countries including Norway (norw%=Norway). I use album search mode but genrefinder wont find norway. So I try running with the "tag with multiple values". option. Then was Norway found in custom field 1. Why does it only work with that option on?
Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
I'm not sure why it would only work with that option ticked, unless the value is further down and another value is getting picked first.

The norway value is the first one on the whitelist, if thats what you mean.

No, I meant first in the results file from Last.Fm.

Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
Is there a way to blacklist the artist's name?
What i am seeing a lot is that lastfm users have tagged the songs with the artist's name. Is there a way to tell blacklist this or any other way to prevent these tags from being included?
Thanks
Matt

No, but that's a nice idea - I'll make it do that anyway!

Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
Hello, how can I set up order of preference? For example,
if New Wave is in the top 5 tags, but Rock is the biggest tag, I would like it to choose New Wave anyway. But for other songs where New Wave is not in the top 5, I would like it to choose Rock.
Thanks

Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
Sorry, there's currently no way of doing this. It would also be incredibly difficult to implement this the way that the script currently works.

Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
I believe this an IE limitation as it will only allow two simultaneous connections. I guess I could try and write a mode into the queue where it waits for another to become available, but it might be best for you to just try on only use one at a time, as Last.Fm has a limit of 1 request per second and will block your IP address if you abuse this. My script is designed to abide by this, but if there's another script making requests as well then you will be abusing it.

Re: Genre Finder 3.2 [MM2+3]
First awesome script. I have only 2 (performance) issues. First suppose I have 100 tracks of same artist. 99 are correctly tagged last one not. I run the script it finds this track and offers change for this artist. All 100 tracks will be updated (see 100 tracks to be tagged in status bar) it may take a while if you have many songs of the same artist. Second issue. Let say I have artist set to artist 1; artist 2;. Script will look for both artists but after I accept the change anyway only tag comming from artist 1 is used (that's assuming I have set it to 1 value per genre). Second will be ignored anyways so why look for hat artist in first place?
