Re: AutoRateAccurate 2.2 (02/08/2008) - Try out 2.2.1 RC3
Each time I get a notification that there are new posts in this thread I get fear of new bugs.
But that's really good news! Thanks!

Ok, 2.2.1 released. Please check the first post.
Basically it's RC3 with another bugfix. Thanks for all the testing!
Complete changelog since 2.2:
-Fix: A infinite loop which made MM freeze on very short songs (<1 second) has been solved.
-Fix: SkipDetection forced MM to update tags even if "Write Tags" was disabled.
-Fix: AutoRateAccurate forgot 'Never keep manual ratings'-option.
-Fix: 'Incremental PlayCounter' has been improved.
-Fix: Problem with tuning for the speed optimized formula has been fixed.
-Code cleanup
Have fun!

Re: NEW! AutoRateAccurate 2.2.1 (09/09/2008) - 5 bugs lighter
OK,
I have followed this script and used it for over a year. And it is the best, but before I go messing with my ratings by changing some of the options I would like to know what they do, and I have looked through most of the posts again and can't find the answer so please help.
Question 1:
Is there some place that explains what the various rating formulas do. With out me having to try to do all the math out in advance. I am currenttly using the stock one, but if the other ones make more sense I would use them.
Question 2.
Next what does the manual rating option of "Keep if song can't be autorated" do? Does it mean that if I have MR a song say at 3 stars, but Auto Rate would give it 4 Stars then it will get 4 Stars? or the opposite.
Thanks Great Script.
/Jeff

Re: NEW! AutoRateAccurate 2.2.1 (09/09/2008) - 5 bugs lighter
Hi kazadharri,
sure no problem!
Question 1: Just move the mouse over the formula-field in the options. Then a hint with informations about the formulas will appear. By the way this alsow works for the other options: just move the mouse over it.
Question 2: "Keep if song can't be autorated" means, that autoratings have a higher priority than manual ratings. So if the script would give 4 stars for a song with a manual rating of 3, the song would get the rating of the script. But the manual rating will not be deleted if the script can't rate the song yet, that means if a song never has been played or skipped. If you don't want manual ratings at all choose "Never keep rating" then the script will just remove the rating if it can't calculate an autorating. If you prefer manual ratings over autoratings choose "Keep all".
Hope that helps

Berny,
Not sure if you shed any light on this but I have just installed Vista SP1 and the autoaccurate skip detection doesn't seem to work any more. It could be a coincidence but I'm sure it worked before. Any ideas? I'm running 2.2.1 and it doesn't seem to update the tag with the 'skipped amount' any more.
Thanks again for some great work on this script

@tinny: I'm very glad that it works for you now!
And I added the last.fm-informations to my first post here.
@all: If you have any problems please let me know. I'll do my best to make it stable.
@PhilDG: I also use Vista SP1 and have no problems anymore. There were some date-problems before but these have been fixed. And SkipDetection was not affected by that.
1. Are you sure that AutoRateAccurate and SkipDetection are enabled?
2. If yes, try to reinstall the script (no need to uninstall the 'old' version) and restart MediaMonkey.
3. Try to disable your antivirus. Some antivirus-programs block VBS-scripts. If that's the case let me know, please.

When you give a gift subscription, you only need the last.fm username. You put your own email in the Email field (for the confirmation of payment email) and the username of the person you are subscribing for in the username field (e.g. Big_Berny). I know, because I just did it!tinny wrote:what's your mail on last.fm?Big_Berny wrote: I don't want any money for this script! Re: NEW! AutoRateAccurate 2.2.1 (09/09/2008) - 5 bugs lighter
By the way: I'm already working on AutoRateAccurate 2.3 which will (hopefully) be a bit faster than 2.2.1. With my unstable pre-version I could reduce the time it needs for AutoCalibrate and AutoRate by 20%. Not sooo much (and maybe the difference will be even smaller when it's stable) but since there's not much room for optimizations anymore it's not bad.
I need your help since I'm planning a new feature and don't know if it's useful. So could you tell me how it takes on your pc to AutoCalibrate and AutoRate? Just click on the yellow star and messure the seconds it needs untill the AutoCalibration and the AutoRating has finished. If you run it the first time it may update some tags because some rating change which will slowdown the whole process. So could you please run it twice and only messure the time the second time? This way I really know how much the calculation (without tagging) needs on your pc.
Here it needs 6.2 seconds for about 15000 tracks on 1.6GHz Intel Core Duo.
Thanks!
