Hello softwares. Mediamonkey is the GOD of the music players, others can change they job and start a new business in horse racing or agriculture. But (I'm a "but..." person) but I need something more.
More than perfection? Sure, why not?
Ok, this is a short list of the features you should add (using plugins or other):
1. Export to M3U playlist if useful but I need that it will remember the last location I saved the playlist because I often do several exportations at once. It would be better if there was an option where to set the default export destination. And it should give as default M3U name the selected playlist name.
2. In the "Get Info/Buy" section it would be nice to have DiscoGS, LastFM, AllMusic, MySpace options and the Wikipedia should search just for the Artist name and not for the Artist+Album (or make it selectable using an check box)
3. The Option window as well as all the other popup windows should check to be inside the monitor edges (in multimonitor often they go outside the monitor and it is impossible to reset to defaul position)
4. I've an huge musuic collection. Is it possible that the library doesn't index all the files I have? Often I look for a song using the search and it doesn't find it but travelling across the folders I find it.... And i refreshed more and more the library. Strange.
5. I really need an option that will copy the ID3V2 tag to the ID3V1 tag and viceversa.
6. What about an auto-bpm calculator for the current playlist or a selected one that will populate the relative ID3V2 field?
7. Why the BPM field in MM doesn't display the VirtualDJ BPM?
Well, this is enough at the moment.
Thanks.

Tools -> Scripts -> Export all playlists already does exactly as you've describedNightInAgharta wrote:Hello softwares. Web Search panels already makes it possible to find more info from just about any site2. Good point, I don't use multimonitor but I can see how that would be a problem.3. The Option window as well as all the other popup windows should check to be inside the monitor edges (in multimonitor often they go outside the monitor and it is impossible to reset to defaul position)
No, MM has seen libraries of up to 2Terabytes of music, I doubt its just missing some files. Either those tracks aren't in your library (maybe they are a different filetype that you didn't choose to add or they are in a folder that you don't realize you never scanned) or they really don't match your search request (typos, etc).4. I've an huge musuic collection. Is it possible that the library doesn't index all the files I have? Any particular reason why? MM already writes by default to ID3v1 and ID3v2.5. I really need an option that will copy the ID3V2 tag to the ID3V1 tag and viceversa.

I would guess that BPM isn't stored in ID3 tags by this program or is stores calculated bpm in some non-standard tag. If it really does put bpm in the right place, you'd have to rescan your music or have file monitor active to be able to see the changes made to the file (since it was made with another program outside of MM).7. Why the BPM field in MM doesn't display the VirtualDJ BPM?
Well, this is enough at the moment.

Ok, it works, just a little bit boring to delete every playlists I don't want to export and keep just the ones I need. But ok, better than nothing.nohitter151 wrote:NightInAgharta wrote:Hello softwares. I've already tagged files with ID3V2 tags that have not ID3V1 tags or viceversa. I would like to synch them.nohitter151 wrote:NightInAgharta wrote:5. I really need an option that will copy the ID3V2 tag to the ID3V1 tag and viceversa.

Re: Playlist exporter, Get info/Buy & more
Re: ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags:
MM should already read whichever tags are present; ie. if a file only has id3v1 tags it will read those tags and import them into the database. As soon as you change any property about that file in MM every tag is saved in both v1 and v2 tags, so I don't see why something else is explicitly needed.
If you want to force the tags to be saved to both forms of tags just highlight the files and go to Tools -> Advanced tag management -> Synchronize tags
