Hmmm. That got interesting. FYI, I have (so far)
Installed foobar2000
http://www.foobar2000.org/
http://www.foobar2000.org/download
Added foobar support for Monkey's Audio (APE)
http://www.foobar2000.org/components/vi ... put_monkey
Configured foobar to use my command line lame(3.98.2) encoder (during the initial foobar convert dialog)
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htm
Downloaded but not yet installed Cue Tools
http://cuetools.net/doku.php/cuetools:cuetools
Completed initial test as follows:
In foobar
- Open CUE file
- Select all tracks
- Convert to MP3(lame, highest quality, NOT fast)
In MM
- Used Trix's PUID Generator script to get PUIDs for both foobar tracks and previously generated Cue Splitter/MM tracks.
- Compared PUIDs for same tracks.
Results:
- Took a bit of work to get foobar up and running. Links above should help other users get to the same point.
- foobar, once installed, is simpler and faster to use than the Cue Splitter + MM approach I used previously.
- PUIDs were identical using either approach.
Next step.
- More investigation of accuraterip, including, suggested testing.
