ripped CD files sound bad

Post by LTD »

Any ideas on effective CD ripping--I rarely have problems with my ripped files, but there is one CD in particular that whenever I try to rip it, the files have lots of skips and clicks. I've tried ripping into WMA, MP3, WAV, Flac, and OGG, using various settings. I've tried using both drives on the computer. Help!! :-?

By the way, the CD itself has no scratches.

Any particular settings or formats I could try?

Use Exact Audio Copy - great software.

more specifically, exact audio copy with "secure" mode enabled. when you first install it will ask if you prefer fast rips or accurate rips- go for accurate. it basically double checks everything it rips and makes sure there are no skips. it works wonders on cds that are a bit aged and aren't in the perfect condition.
